Twist In Architecture were appointed in the summer 2013 to undertake the detail design and contract administration phases of a new build house in Hartland Road, Camden, London. Our clients explained that that they wanted to live in their home for the rest of their lives, however were outgrowing their existing two level early – mid 20th century house. Rather than move away and into a new neighbourhood, they decided to remain in an area that they loved and enjoyed and rather than extend their existing house, decided to re-build an entirely new home which would serve as their home for the rest of their lives.

Planning was granted as the proposal re-instated a terrace house where there previously stood a mid-century anomaly, completing  the existing Victorian terrace street elevation. Twist In Architecture have been working with the clients, structural engineer, builder and builder’s specialist sub-contractors  to resolve the detail construction documentation phase while overseeing the buildings construction. We are currently developing the principle ideas and design approach for the interior materials and finishes as well as designing all special architectural features including stairs, joinery, external gates, fences and terrace balustrades.

Project is on-site at the moment and we expect it to be finished before Summer 2014
