Andreja was our lead architect on a project for a two storey extension on a Grade II listed Georgian terrace flat in the Camden borough.  We had met with other architects, but we felt that Andreja completely understood what we wanted in terms of improved living space, however he was fully knowledgeable of the complexities surrounding obtaining planning permission on a Grade II listed building in a conservation area.  The process to obtain planning permission took several months, due to the fact that the Camden Planning Applications team required several reports such as Heritage Statements, Basement Impact Assessments, however Andreja managed the relationship with Camden extremely professionally, and was able to negotiate and compromise to obtain the best results for us as clients, but to also ensure that Camden were satisfied with the end design.

The final design met the brief that we had set Andreja, and actually we were pleasantly surprised with the final design in terms of what it offered to us as a family.  Given the historical nature of the building, we believed it would be difficult to design an extension which would complement the existing building, however Andreja came up with some excellent design ideas, which minimising the overall impact of the 2 storey extension.  As you can imagine in a ground floor flat on a terrace block, it is not the easiest of design to ensure that surrounding neighbours are satisfied, however Andreja managed to achieve this.
